About Wes

Wes McEntee is a 2018 graduate of Vermont Tech where he got his degrees in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology. Upon graduation from Vermont Tech, Wes spent three years as a machinist and a welder for Hayward Tyler, while serving as the Adjunct Professor of Welding for Vermont Tech. He spent another four years after that working as an Equipment Engineer for GlobalFoundries, while teaching welding for the Champlain Valley Union High School Access program. Currently, Wes is a Manufacturing Engineer for Hazelett in Colchester Vermont and still teaches welding for Access.

In addition to his professional and teaching career, Wes remains actively involved with VTSU on many levels. He serves as a trustee of the Vermont Technical College Alumni Association Board, which now continues as the alumni association for VTSU Randolph. He also serves as a member on the VTSU Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board. A highlight for Wes is; since his graduation in 2018 he has returned to Randolph every year with whomever his current employer was/is to present Engineering Senior Capstone Project offerings. From that, he has mentored many teams of engineering students through completing their projects. This has lead to internships and employment opportunities for the students.

In 2024, Wes was awarded “VTCAA Alumni of the Year”, in recognition for his commitment to the school and relentless support of the exceptional technical education it offers to it’s students.

I want to ensure that students who are following a path similar to myself, continue to find success and are presented with opportunities that are continually better than the ones I enjoyed during my years at Vermont Tech and now in my professional career.
